Russia will close the border due to coronavirus

Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has ordered traffic across the Russian border to be restricted due to the coronavirus pandemic. The relevant document is published on the government's website.
We are talking about road, rail, pedestrian, river and mixed border crossing points, as well as the land section of the Russian-Belarusian state border. The restriction will take effect from 0: 00 on March 30.
The ban does not apply to diplomats and their family members, cargo drivers on international flights, crews of river vessels, train and locomotive crews of international railway services, members of official delegations, couriers and couriers of diplomatic communications, as well as Russians leaving the country due to the death of a close relative, residents of the Kaliningrad region and Russian citizens permanently residing in the territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics.

On March 11, the world health organization declared a pandemic outbreak of the COVID-19 coronavirus infection that spread from China. According to the latest who data, more than 510 thousand people were infected worldwide, and 23.5 thousand died.

In Russia, the total number of cases of coronavirus reached 1,264 (817 of them in Moscow), 49 people recovered, and four died.
